Why Choose Summer Study?

Our Summer Study course is a fantastic alternative for students with an upper-intermediate to advanced level of English. Students will benefit from a content-based learning approach, enabling them to develop English language skills through the study of other subjects. Our Summer Study syllabus has been designed especially for Summer Boarding Courses by our experienced and innovative course writers. Due to the multinational and communicative environment provided, students will also be able to build on their fluency and confidence in using English.

What You’ll Learn

During the course students will study English Literature, History, Creative Writing, Science and Geography, providing a dynamic and varied programme from which to learn. The course draws on a wide range of interactive and thought-provoking materials, ranging from famous works of literature to scientific case studies, and covers both classic and modern elements of each subject.

How You’ll Learn: Time to Shine

As part of our Time to Shine programme, our Summer Study students can use their newfound subject knowledge to create and deliver engaging presentations to their peers. This communicative and collaborative task enables students to utilise a variety of 21st century skills, as well as build on their confidence.

What You’ll Take Away

Our Summer Study students will leave SBC Canford with a higher English proficiency, a broader understanding of the subjects studied and increased confidence in using English. Alongside this, students will develop key transferable skills in presentation and collaboration, and be encouraged to be creative with their ideas.
