Why Choose an Introduction to STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is an ideal course for students who wish to influence scientific and technological development in the future. STEM at SBC Canford International instructs students in how to apply each of these four academic disciplines to solve real-world scientifc and technological challenges, such as in the fields of robotics, engineering, and technological design.

What You’ll Learn

As Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are integrated together in the course syllabus, students will develop informed values and attitudes with regards to how each discipline contributes to the biological, technological and physical world. Students will learn about the dependent relationship between each discipline, and about how the four disciplines influence society when combined.

How You’ll Learn: Time to Shine

As part of our Time to Shine programme, our Introduction to STEM students will complete an engaging research and presentation task each week, in which they deliver an interesting talks to their peers based on Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

What You’ll Take Away

By the end of the course, students will have developed a wide range of language, subject knowledge and study skills. Lessons will assist students in improving their language fluency and accuracy, while our Time to Shine projects will provide them with increased skills in research, teamwork and presentation. As well as this, students will return home with a developed set of scientific and technological skills and awareness.
